2013 Fantasy Football Rankings: Tight Ends

Because you’re obviously an avid fantasy footballer, you may know that FootballGuys has gone live for the 2013 season (with a great new layout, by the way).  Therefore, I had to spend last weekend refining my rankings for rookies, QBs, RB, WRs, TEs, Ks, and DSTs. Throughout the week, I’ll be releasing each position, along with a look at my overall Top 100.

Here are the TEs.  If there is a number in parentheses after the player listed, that number is where I have the player ranked in my Top 100.  I’ll leave some commentary below on the players listed in BOLD.

Before we get to the full depth of the player pool, let’s take a look at this year’s rookie class now that we know the teams for which they’ll be playing.  I’ll include a blurb from their rookie scouting report on CBSSports.com’s NFL Draft Tracker.

The Masters: Catching a Tiger By the Tail

This time of year always makes me wonder: isn’t it ironic that I like the four golf “Majors” more than most of the major sports?  Let’s digress and get right into the preview, starting with who I think are the week’s best bets.  Keep in mind, this isn’t a measure of who I think will play better but who I’d bet on at their respective odds.

The Favorites
There are only three whose odds separate them from the field, and I like them in this order:

  • Phil Mickelson (10/1) > Rory McIlroy (8/1) > Tiger Woods (3/1)

That’s not to say I don’t think Tiger can/will win.  I’d just rather shoot for the bigger payout.

Thank You, College Basketball

Parity. Chaos. Upsets. Dunk City. Harvard’s first win. Kevin Ware’s leg. Legends like Pitino, Coach K, Izzo, and Boeheim. Russ-diculous. Trey Burke. Unsung heroes like Spike Albrecht and Luke Hancock. Senior leaders like Peyton Siva. And that was all in the Tournament alone.

It’s ironic that the song is called “One Shining Moment” when there are always so many good ones that it’s hard to pick the one that shines the most.

Now we wait 213 days until the 2013-14 season tips off on November 8 in the Barclay’s Center.
